President Jimmy Carters FaceBook Profile-

This piece of work is from my U.S. History class, and the reason why chose this piece is because it was an intriguing project. I had never done something that was even close to similar, and I was able to use my knowledge of todays social networking cites as a template. The purpose of this project was to select a past president, research information about them as well as their Domestic and Foreign policies, and then put all of the information in the appropriate category. This project captivated my attention because it was relevant to the social aspects of life that we have grown accustomed to. I enjoyed creating this project because it was unlike anything that I had done before. I didn't have to write an essay or create a powerpoint to show my understanding of President Jimmy Carter. I was able to take pictures from the internet, and "upload" them to his Facebook page. I was able to "post" things on his wall and have other important figures post things as well, but everything was relevant to events that happened over time.  I also "updated" his information and added who his friends were. This project overall, was extremely amusing, and I was able to receive a really good grade because of the amount of effort I put into it.

This piece of work is from my Creative Writing class, and I picked this because I was able to express the depth of my writing using elements of short stories. I used elements like structure, figurative language and tone to further the meaning of the story. I always thought that short stories were as simple as they seem; stories that are short. But after going more into depth about the elements of a short story, I was able to create a feeling or emotion that provoked the reader to feel something. That in itself was one of the biggest enlightenments I had in regards to why people write in the first place. I wanted to have an irregular structure where it starts towards the end, cuts back to the beginning and then finishes where the short story started. I received very good grades on this short story and was one of the reasons why I chose this piece.

Blood Analysis Guide-

This piece was one of my favorite pieces of work that I did all of my junior year. This piece of work was done in my Forensics class in the Blood Analysis unit. We were focusing on blood spatter and how the way that the blood is dropped from a source. We were able to make conclusions about what happened at a crime scene based on the pattern of the blood. This interested me because I like learning about things that are out of the ordinary. We performed many tests with different blood patterns in order to further our understanding of how blood at a crime scene can be created with certain types of weapons. We then pilled together all of the tests and wrote an analysis report on each type of blood pattern. I received a good grade on this which was another factor as to why I put this in my portfolio. I also really enjoyed the project because it was done with my fellow classmates, and I love doing group projects.

End Of Year Reflection

When I look back on my junior year of high school, I can say proudly that this was one of my best years because of the amount of enjoyment I had, but also because of the lessons that I learned. I used to almost never do my homework, and that would effect my grades very negatively. I do all my homework now and then that helps me receive better test scores and a better overall better grade. I realized that when I do my homework, its not as hard as it looks, and when you do it, it makes you enjoy the material and makes you want to participate in class. My grades have made a complete turn around and I now own this sense of responsibility that I never had before. Other than my grades, I have become more knowing of what I want to do in my future and I now know that my passion is music. This year has been so enlightening for me, and I can only hope that senior year will be even better.
